Installation

Installation of Hitch Vault

The Hitch Vault is extremely easy to install. There is absolutely no assembly required. With just a few steps (as easy as 1, 2, and 3), you’re ready to move forward on your outdoor adventures without worrying about losing a thing.

Remove lid cover from the base of your hitch receiver.

Unlock and open the Hitch Vault door by entering your combination.

Inside the hitch safe, pull on the lever located at the bottom, which will retract the hitch pins.

While still holding onto the lever, place the Hitch Vault inside the hitch receiver.

Once the Hitch Vault is inside the receiver, let go of the lever until it is fully secured to the receiver. It should snap perfectly into the receiver’s anchor holes.

Place your family, friends and your personal belongings inside the Hitch Vault. You can place an assortment of items such as wallets, keys, cellphones, GPS devices, media devices, cd faceplates, DVD players, insurance information and more.

Close the hitch door and reset your combination dial to secure the items.

Close the steel lid cover over the hitch door. Not only is the combination lock and hitch door hidden underneath the steel cover, but you can also use it like a stepping stool to access items at the roof of your car or if you need to take a seat.

You have now successfully secured and protected all your valuable items. Go and enjoy your outdoor activities.

Unlock Safe to obtain items

After you’re back from your long adventures, you’ll want to gain access inside your safe to obtain your items. This process only takes 3 steps!

Just lift up the lid cover and enter your combination.

Once your combination is entered, lift the hitch door from the handle located next to the combination lock.

You have successfully re-opened your safe to place more items or to remove any items back to your possession.

Removal of Hitch Vault from receiver

Removing the Hitch Vault from the hitch receiver is just as easy as the installation. Remember, the only way to remove the Hitch Vault is to unlock the safe and entering your combination because the hitch pins are located from inside the safe. This is to safeguard intruders and thieves from removing and stealing the safe completely from the receiver.

Lift up the lid cover and enter your combination.

Once entered, lift the hitch door from the handle.

Remove any items that are inside.

Locate the hitch pins and pull the lever to retract.

While the hitch pins are retracted from the receiver’s anchor holes, pull the Hitch Vault towards you.

You have successfully removed the Hitch Vault from the receiver.
